Last night I was front row center for a live taping of e Town a national radio show with 1 million listeners. The show featured M ike D oughty and Z ee A vi.
MD is an old favorite, I have seen him in MD, LA, NY, CO (5+ times) etc.
He played with S crap the upright bassist on 5 songs including 3 unreleased tunes.
Z ee A vi plays on Jack Johnson’s label (she was discovered on YouTube while living in Malaysia), and boy was she a surprise awesome. Her debut album comes out today, check it out!
During the show which will play in about 6 weeks they talked of Erica, the show hosts daughter, who is in Au R evoir Simone. She went to college with my sister! Dad is part of Big Head Todd.
At the end of the show the eTones, S crap, MD and ZA jammed a closing number, it was really cool.
Had a good time exploring Boulder by bike, had some guac, italian frozen yogurt, the worlds best fries (at spuds), etc
Saturday night had drinks with a woman with an amazing voice, Merle. She is currently the diva/Lady in the Lake in Spamalot. Her Broadway resume is ridiculous (starring roles in Rent and Aida and JC Superstar).
Friday threw a dinner party.
And best of all, school’s out for summer!
